SEND

At St. John the Baptist CE Primary School, we are committed to the inclusion of all pupils equally, no matter what their special need or disability. We are committed to providing equal access for all children, to a broad and balanced social and academic curriculum and therefore, take into account the additional support required by those children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our priority is to develop independent, confident children who have high expectations of themselves and have an aspiration to succeed. We raise aspiration and expectations by trying to remove barriers to learning. To achieve this, we work with a number of partnership agencies in order to provide a positive educational experience for all pupils.

Children with SEND are supported in and out of class, individually and/or in small group interventions, according to their need and personal learning styles. These interventions are regularly reviewed and assessed, in order to ensure that the children are getting the most appropriate support at all times, so that they make as much progress as possible.

We also take part in a range of SEND sporting events and compete against other locality schools.

We have published our Local Offer here:

To download our SEND Information Report please see below.
The Government has asked all Local Authorities in the UK to publish, in one place, information about the services and provision they expect to be available in their area for children and young people from 0 to 25 who have Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND).

This is known as the Local Offer. Further information about the Local Offer can be found on the West Sussex County Council Local Offer.
